Ikarus: The last Feather

Ikarus was one of my earliest stylized game art projects and served as a personal benchmark for my abilities as a self-taught game artist. With this project, I aimed to create something distinctive by developing the concept entirely from scratch. The final design combines elements of Roman architecture with Christian-inspired motifs, resulting in a monumental structure supported by a restrained, monochromatic color palette.

Gold and yellow tones were used prominently throughout the scene to reinforce the narrative theme, which centers around the citizens’ devotion and obsession with their deity.

Looking back, there are many aspects I would approach differently today. However, the project played an important role in helping me better understand my strengths, identify areas for improvement, and shape my growth as an artist.
